// Bionic Bloom
Anthesis describes the process and period of blooming that a flowering plant cycles through. This process has been significantly used from history to current times in many contexts to describe health, energy and prosperity. This inturn invokes a positive impact on people. This project aims at using this ideology and symbolism to come up with an interactive installation system which blooms and closes according to human movement as input. The research involves defining a mechanical system involving gear movements, which biomorphs the features of a blooming flower, which can be mass 3d-printed and assembled. Each of these mechanical units would be made functional using a servo motor, which is operated through an arduino microcontroller board. The research intends to mimic the natural & organic process of Anthesis to create an electromechanical design mechanism which can work as an aesthetic and interactive facade system.
